THE VARIABLE NAMED ONE OF ADWEEK’S TOP 50 FASTEST GROWING AGENCIES

Adding to an impressive list of awards and accolades, The Variable has been named one of Adweek’s Fastest Growing Agencies. Now in its third year, Adweek’s Fastest Growing list honors the top 75 agencies and organizations large and small across the globe whose growth has outpaced other agencies over the past three years. Overall, The Variable ranked No. 48 on this year’s list.

As Kyle O’Brien, agency reporter at Adweek writes, “If running an agency before the pandemic was difficult, heading one up while the world was in lockdown was a Sisyphean task. As Covid-19 descended upon the global ad industry, agencies scrambled to figure out ways to stay afloat during one of the most disruptive periods in advertising. Some resorted to massive layoffs, others folded or were acquired by bigger agencies and holding companies, but some rose to the challenge and were able to not just stay in business, but also chart a course to profitability while avoiding layoffs entirely.”

Being named to the Adweek Fastest Growing list marks just the latest honor for our team. The Variable is a three-time winner of Ad Age’s Small Agency of the Year awards since 2015. In 2021, we were named one of Fast Company’s Best Workplaces for Innovators for the second consecutive year, joining globally recognized organizations including Google, Samsung, Mattel, IBM, General Motors, and Moderna, among others. We were also selected by Forbes as One of America’s Best Startup Employers in 2021.

Central to The Variable’s growth has been our unique offering and proven track record in assessing the true business challenges of our clients to craft innovation and creativity that drives actual business results. That approach has led to successful partnerships with brands that include P&G, Nestlé, Electrolux, Char-Broil, BASF, NAPA Auto Parts, Purpose Financial, Scotts MiracleGro, and Bonnie Plants, among others.

“We’re obsessed with helping upper middle market companies overcome indifference and the things they worry about every day — defeating the things that have stagnated growth or discovering the things that will continue accelerating their current growth,” said David Mullen, president and partner at The Variable. “That’s why we’ve built a business model and team that combines an advertising agency that drives growth for today with an innovation consultancy that designs growth for tomorrow. And it creates disproportionate value for our clients.”

“Turns out that amazing growth for our own business and team is a great side effect of building long-standing, trusted partnerships with clients,” said Mullen. “I’m really proud of the work our people do every day and the clients we do it with, too. Our own growth and recognition like this from the team at Adweek allows us to provide our teammates with opportunities to develop and grow, attract new talented folks to join us, and help new clients find new ways to fight indifference.”
